Black Theologies of Liberation

Abstract This article introduces this thematic issue of The Ecumenical Review, which originates from a colloquium hosted at the University Western Cape on Black theologies. Our aim is to propose set theological frames through consider 11 articles presented here, as well study theology in general. We that theologies liberation can be understood within three frameworks: resistance encompasses both social and epistemic, existence focuses consciousness identity, solidarity fully embraces African feminist queer perspectives. What contributors succeed doing ushering new ways thinking about subject. Not only do they open frontiers for theorizing conceptualizing gospel light experiences, but also challenge exclusionary nature old frontiers, calling attention how even discourses sometimes reinscribe hegemony.
